about-conference

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

You are cordially invited to take part in the 14th edition of the Coface Country Risk Conference. The conferences are dedicated to risk in international and national commercial transactions as well as to supporting safe development and export of Polish companies. The motto of this year’s edition is “Politics, economy, regulations – business under pressure of changes”.

Business in Poland is becoming increasingly dependent on events taking place in international markets. It is no longer just the economic situation of the main commercial partners that shapes business strategies. The same type of influence can be noted on the part of politics. Political risk and uncertainty affect Europe more often, and it is the most important sales market for Polish companies. Great Britain’s exit from the European union, the situation in Italy and the yellow vests movement in France are all examples of factors that are important for Polish exporters.

The situation in the main foreign markets is weaker, which is reflected in the slowing pace of our economy’s growth. Households benefit from the advantageous situation in the labour market, but the pressure regarding increase of salaries and difficulties in filling vacancies have become a significant criterion limiting on-going business and growth of companies. Despite the fast pace of growth of Polish economy last year, bankruptcies and restructuring procedures of companies increased by 10%, confirming that the macro-economic environment is not the sole criterion that can improve business liquidity.

EXPERT KNOWLEDGE

During the meetings, the participants can become familiar with analysis of current tendencies in world economy, risk analysis in selected markets, latest forecasts regarding the Polish economy as well as experience of Polish entrepreneurs relating to risk management. The conferences are recognised by participants for the professional and non-commercial approach of their organisers and speakers.

ORGANISER’S EXPERIENCE

They come as a supplement to risk assessments published every quarter in 160 countries, arranged by Coface based on unique knowledge regarding payment-related behaviours of companies and experience of risk assessment analysts, cooperating with Coface customers on an on-going basis and verifying the condition of their debtors. The latest assessments are available free of charge, on local Coface websites.
